Mark's POV
I can't believe he actually left me. It's not like i could of died or anything a couple weeks ago... bastard. What if my stitches where to come undone whilst he was having fun. I close my eyes for a split second until i hear footsteps make their way upstairs quickly i close them tighter to make out as if i'm asleep. Right now i don't want to talk to him let alone see him. "Babe? Are you awake." Gary's voice whispers through the door. Still i lay on the bed with my eyes closed. "Mark? I'm nipping to the shop do you want anything?"
"No." I reply sharply whilst slowly turning onto my side, so my back faces him.
Quietly he sighs. "Ok... i wont be long... love you."
Feeling awful even though i shouldn't i stare out the window trying to keep my eyes focused as i hear him leave the room and go back downstairs.
I've lost everything for him i wish he actually showed me he cares not by buying me things or spoiling me i'd love it if we both were to lay in bed together watching a film, cuddling or even talking. Maybe he's getting bored of me now after the accident. Can't wait for these stitches to be finally removed so i can be back to my normal self going out more... giving him the sex and pleasure... again that could be the reason he's the way he is. No Mark don't. Don't even think about him cheating on you. You know him better than that. Slowly i close my eyes trying to get a little bit of rest before he comes back.
The sound of the front door closing loudly wakes me up. Woah. How long have i been asleep for? Over 2hours that was a long shopping trip. To be honest i might as well stay in bed today i really don't feel like going down at all. Gary mumbles downstairs in the hallway talking to somebody. "Alright alright calm down." He laughs a little. Who the hell is it? "He's upstairs. Lets get him." Diving my head back under the duvet i pretend i'm asleep as Gary and the visitor walks upstairs. "Sssh... he's asleep." Gary whispers. "Mark? Mark wake up you've got some visitors." Even though i can't see his face i can tell he's smiling almost like he's pleased with himself. Very slowly i open my eyes.
"DADDY!" Is this a dream??! I blink a few times not believing what i'm seeing. My two children. My two beautiful children with huge grins filling their faces stand in front of me.
"O...Oh... gosh... kids!" Instantly i sit up ignoring the slight pain in my stomach as i give them both a tight hug. Gary smiles at me standing behind them."Have you missed Daddy?" He asks stroking Luke's hair.
Jumping with excitement Lucy giggles. "Yes! Yes! How are you feeling Daddy?"
"So...so much better now.... wow..." A few tears escape my eyes.
Luke pats my hand a little. "Daaaad... don't cry...."
"I know son... i know it's not very cool of me." I wink a little whilst wiping my eyes. "I've just missed you both sooo so much." Giving them another tight hug i mouth the words to Gary 'Thank you.'
He nods in reply still smiling. "Ay that's not all is it kiddies."
"Ohhhh Dad! Dad! Guess where we are going!" Lucy jumps up and down again high on sugar.
Luke pouts and folds his arms. "No! I wanna tell Dad!"
"You both can tell him." Gary laughs.
"We... are going... to have...... A PICNIC!" Both of them shout giggling.
Looking at them both then at Gary whilst grinning widely. "Are we?"
"We sure are." Gary pulls a picnic basket from behind his back. "Come on lets let Daddy get some rest before we go."
"No...no it's fine i've had a few hours. I'm excited to go now." I smile reaching for my crutches.
Once we find a spot within the field we settle down. Gary unfolds the picnic blanket, so we can sit down. "Are you ok babe? Will you be comfortable?"
Sitting down slowly hissing when a burning pain in my stomach approaches. "No...no i'll be fine." I try and find a comfortable position. We set out the food on the blanket. Sandwiches, cakes, drinks, sweets, pork pies, cocktail sausages and scotch eggs fill the blanket. "Are we eating for the 5000." I laugh a little reaching for a sandwich
"You'll only be complaining that you're hungry when we get back home." Gary laughs opening a can of Pepsi and taking a long gulp of it. Lucy and Luke instantly dive for the cakes and sweets. "Your Mummy said not too many sweet things."
Oh shit i forgot about Emma. "Erm... How is she?" Nervously i ask.
"She seems to be doing ok... i mean she's still not.. you know... she wasn't too pleased to see me at first, but when i explained to her about your accident and how much you are missing the kids. She wouldn't of said no. Although she's awfully worried about you..." He talks quietly as the kids get up to play with their ball.
Staring at the kids play together my heart starts to hurt slightly from missing my family, but Gary means the world to me. "I see... yeah... i feel so bad Gaz.." Sighing softly i rest my head against his shoulder. "I'm sorry for being a twat to you today... i just don't like being left on my own... i don't want to loose everyone i care about..."
"I...I'll never leave you Mark... i promise..." Gary stutters a little like something bothering him.
I lift my head a little to look at him. His eyes are focused on the blanket. Like he's lost in his own thoughts. "Is everything ok? Are you ok?"
Gary shakes his head a little. "Yeah..yeah i'm fine... just been worried about you and everything."
"I'm fine... I mean i will be fine once i can be back to my normal self ... you see i promise." Gently i kiss his lips. His fingers entwine with mine as we watch the kids play football. Lucy pouts when Luke kicks the ball in her goal she sits down crossing her arms and legs whilst he runs round cheering for himself. "Play nicely with your sister Luke." I laugh a little. Lucy sticks her tongue out at him whilst picking up the ball to continue with the game.
"You know... i'd love to be a Dad one day..." Gary randomly says.
Feeling a little surprised i look at him. "Really??"
"More than anything... new house... maybe married... the two of us with our own son or daughter... with a beautiful brother and sister to play with.... perfect." Gary sighs happily.
